We all know honey is delicious, but did you know it can be used in recipes too? Infused honey adds a new flavor profile to many dishes and provides additional health benefits. Here are some of our favorite recipes that use infused honey:
Caramelized Honey-Glazed Brussels Sprouts
Combine 2 tablespoons butter with 1 tablespoon brown sugar over medium heat until the mixture becomes light brown in color. Add ½ cup water and cook until the liquid evaporates. Next, add 1 pound brussels sprouts cut in half lengthwise and ¼ teaspoon salt; stir together while cooking for about 5 minutes or until translucent. Drizzle on top of the Brussels sprouts ½ cup of your choice of St. Michael's Infused honey and serve.
Honey Glazed Salmon
To make the salmon, season it with salt and pepper. Heat a pan over medium-high heat and add two teaspoons of olive oil. Cook each side of the salmon for three minutes or until golden brown on both sides, then remove from heat. Combine ¼ cup your choice of St. Michael's Infused honey with one teaspoon Dijon mustard; brush onto top of salmon.
Spiced Apple Tart with Honey Cream
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Peel, core, and slice two large apples into thin wedges. Toss apple slices with the juice of half a lemon, one tablespoon your choice of St. Michael's Infused honey, ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon, and ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg. Roll out puff pastry dough on a lightly floured surface to a 14-inch square. Trim even with the edge of the pan. Transfer to a greased and floured 11-inch tart pan with a removable bottom. Press dough into the bottom and up sides of the pan, leaving an overhang. Arrange apple slices in concentric circles on top of the pastry shell. Drizzle any remaining juice over the apples. Bake for 35 minutes, or until pastry is golden brown and apples are tender.
